Alfombras de Alpujarra. Trip to Spain and magics of handcrafts.
MOUNTAINS and villages
We have just come back from our long-waiting vacation. Without any doubt we decided to visit Alpujarra again. Alpujarra is an area in the southern part of Sierra Nevada mountains south to Granada. We did the trip there 3 years ago and were totally charmed by its nature and tranquility. Since then the number of tourists doubled and even that Hippie village I spotted last time looked twice bigger. They set up a fence around their settlement so the route we followed (GR-7) was kind of moved away a little. I felt so inspired last time, but this time everything was different. Not bad or worse, just different.
First of all, we started from another end. Our first time we walked from the North to the South. We started our way in Pradollano and hiked Mulhacén, after which we started descent to Trevelez and further till Lanjaron. This time we started in Lanjaron and hiked till Capileira then till Refujio and reached the pick of Mulhacén the next day. After that we went down to Trevelez and finished our trip roaming around Almería. It was harmonious trip in all the ways. We mixed active hiking with drinking beer and swimming in the sea.
But most of all I like handcraft, of course. Look at these pieces of craftsmanship I took pictures of.
